Rapid Prototyping

The quick manufacture of a physical item, model, or assembly utilising 3D computer assisted design is known as rapid prototyping (CAD). Typically, additive manufacturing, or 3D printing as it is more generally known, is used to create the item, model, or assembly.

A high fidelity prototype is one in which the design closely resembles the proposed finished product. In contrast, a low fidelity prototype is one in which there is a significant difference between the prototype and the final product.
